No snooze. No excuses.

The alarm you turn off by finding a color.

When ColorAlarm rings, it shows you a color. The only way to silence it is to get up, find something that color and point your camera at it. By then, you're awake.

No snooze. Find the color somewhere in the real world to turn this off.
Open camera

No way out

It rings until you find the color.

Most alarms are easy to beat half-asleep. ColorAlarm closes every loophole, so the only way to make it stop is to get up and go looking.

No snooze

There's no snooze button. Not hidden, not in settings, not anywhere.

Closing the app won't help

Swipe it away and the alarm starts itself right back up a second later.

Volume buttons won't work

They're locked while it rings, so you can't turn it down to nothing.

Silent mode won't save you

It rings through the alarm channel, so silent mode and low media volume don't mute it.

Worried about getting stuck? Turn on the optional escape hatch in settings to allow a way out after a set time of hunting.

How it works

Three steps from asleep to awake

No puzzles to solve half-asleep, no button to mash. Just a short walk around your home.

  1. 01

    Set your alarm

Pick a time, the days it repeats, a sound and how strict the color match should be.

  2. 02

    It rings with a color

A random color fills your screen, from coral to indigo. There's no snooze button to hide behind.

  3. 03

    Go find it

Point your camera at something that color: a mug, a book, a towel. Match it and the alarm stops.

Features

Built to actually get you out of bed

Everything an alarm should do, plus the one thing most of them can't: make sure you're up.

Live color matching

Scores what your camera sees in real time and forgives dim, early-morning lighting.

Rings when it should

Exact alarms, lock-screen display and reboot survival, so the system can't quietly stop it.

Three difficulty levels

Easy, Normal or Strict, set per alarm. Weekends can be kinder than Mondays.

Streaks & insights

Track your average find time, fastest hunt and how many mornings in a row you've got up.

A growing collection

Every color you find is saved to your collection. There are 32 shades to hunt down.

Sounds that work

14 alarm tones, volume control and vibration. Pick something that really gets you moving.

Pick your difficulty

As forgiving or as ruthless as you need.

Set a strictness per alarm. Heavy sleeper? Go strict. Color matching uses perceptual color science and forgives dim morning light, so it's fair, not fussy.

Easy

Anything in the right color family counts.

Normal

Needs a fairly close shade. Recommended.

Strict

Near-exact shade. Expect a real hunt.

Your mornings stay yours.

ColorAlarm works entirely on your phone. The camera is only used to read the color in front of it, and every frame is processed on the device, then thrown away.
